Product Description

The TCTemp2000-CERT is a thermocouple temperature data logger perfect for applications requiring instant remote readings of temperature. The device is calibrated traceable to the National Institute of Standards and Technology and comes with a Calibration Certificate. The 8-button keypad and large LCD provide convenient access to current data and data logger setup. This data logger has an internal temperature sensor and one external input for J, K, T, E, R, S, B and N type thermocouples. Additionally, memory and battery levels, external power status, sampling and recording status are shown on the LCD. Available on-screen data includes: statistics (min, max, average) for both channels; recording status (start, stop and recording rate); display options (channels shown, units, text size); and calibration information (date calibrated, date for recalibration). Statistics can be cleared at any time during logging. The TCTemp2000 comes with a wall mounted 120VAC/9VDC power adapter. Applications: HVAC applications, oven profiling, HACCP program implementation, process verification and validation, warehouse monitoring, museum and laboratory monitoring, medical/pharmaceutical, environmental studies, food storage, live cargo transport, concrete curing/construction. This unit is very solid and works well for recording temperature. It is not cheap so that is how I would expect it to work.

My only complaint about this is that they charge you $100+ for the sofware and interface cable to be able to download the temperature data from the unit. And what is worse, is that without this software/cable package you can not even go in to the settings and customize the temperature sensor features. So without this software/cable package the unit is just an expensive thermometer display. It is a nice product but I am deducting one star because for the price I think that they should include the software/cable in the package or at least be more clear that the product is not very useful without this.
