The new DLC DV320C, with variable light output and variable color temperature allows the HDSLR and camcorder user to produce a maximum light output equal to approximately 200 watts incandescent light and adjust the color temperature to match the ambient lights color temperature, all with a unit that can be attached to the camera shoe. I was looking to replace our onboard lights that we use for our videography business and found this one to be quite the amazing light. With its 200 watt power, it is literally blinding. So don't point it directly at anyone on full power. The color setting is very cool. The LED's are divided into two different colors with each column alternating colors (column 1 is yellow, 2 is white, 3 is yellow, etc), and as you turn the color dial it will dim one set of lights and turn on the other set. Half way on the dial will have all lights illuminated half way. This provides a very wide color spectrum of 2500K to 6500K. However, this is not the coolest part about these lights. Upon receiving the lights, I allowed the batteries to receive a full charge and then turned the lights on setting 3/5. This would be 60% of full power, so around 120 watts. I set a timer and let the lights run....I read that the lights would last somewhere between 1.5-2 hours on a battery--this is not true at all. Because of this, I actually ordered an additional battery for each of my lights....Well, to my surprise, the lights stayed on for a full 12 hours --- that's half a day!! --- on one battery charge. There is a "low battery" indicator on the back of the light as well. This was not mentioned anywhere on the product description. This light is extremely efficient and way more than I expected. Excellent product and I would highly recommend for anyone needing onboard camera lighting with its own independent battery. One more thing, it attaches very easily to the shoe on a camera with the included accessory. This adapter has a ball joint that allows you to adjust the tilt of the light, which is another great feature.
