I must admit... the price tag was a bit intimidating. But, I took the leap. I have never looked back since. You see, this universal (I call him Wobbler) has become a pal. A bro. Broski. I work as a field service rotating machinery mechanic and travel quite a bit. I value my tools more than almost any other mechanic on the planet. And I abuse them even more. YET... YET... when I wake up tired and sore after working 12hrs a day (that's 84hrs a week) for weeks on end I can count on Wobbler to make me breakfast right in time. I like eggs over easy and at say IHOP they come out cold because the hashbrowns take longer to cook and the cooks are too lazy to time them right. Not this $300 universal! When I finally get out to the parking lot of the hotel I find he has already started the truck and turned the heater (or AC depending on time of year and locale). What a bud huh?! Not only that, he usually tells me to get a little shut eye and drives me to work. When we arrive he's friends with everyone (and tool) and ends up lighting up smiles on everyone on the turbine deck. Hell, even the safety guy doesn't care that he's 30' in the air with no hard hat, no harness, and no safety glasses! We usually break out into song and dance as all the hands and engineers, operators and safety men alike bask in the glory of Wobbler. And no... no no, I am not jealous of the attention he receives. I am just glad that it was money well spent. Thank you no name no description company for giving me a true friend.

AKTAKOM ADS-2221MV dual channel Oscilloscope 200 MHz+VGA Review

I've had this unit for 4 months now, and it's been working great. I love the FFT mode. The display is huge and bright, way better than others I've used. I haven't been able to figure out how to get the ethernet to do anything useful, but connecting to a computer over USB works fine with the Owon PC software. I bought the additional battery pack for it and am really glad I did, I think I use it on battery more often than when plugged in. I'm not sure what else to say, I'm very happy with the scope.

To clear up any confusion, I can confirm that this unit is the same product as the Owon SDS8202-V, only a bit cheaper. It also has white-labeled firmware on it so that the word "Owon" doesn't show up in the menus.

The only issue I ran into was when Owon released a firmware update I couldn't apply the firmware to this unit because the serial number and model number of this unit don't match official Owon products. The unit also has a USB host, which the manual says may be useful for updating firmware, but there are no instructions on how to do that anywhere on the web. Thankfully I was able to contact the Aktakom sales team, and after 13 emails back and forth, they were able to get me a link to a hidden download on Owon's site that allowed me to update the firmware. So even though it was a bit of a hassle to get, I'm thankful to Aktakom for pulling through on that :)

I'm giving it 4 stars only because of the firmware issue. The oscope is great, and I'd give it 5 stars if Aktakom had a firmware download page on their website to make updates easier.

This filter seems fine, but an inch or so from each end there was glue between most folds causing me to have to carefully separate the folds to break the glue (or slightly rip the filter material). Not bad enough that I'd take the time to return, but in the future I'll go back to the Aprilaire distributed filters because I've never had an issue with any of the five I've used from them.
