AKTAKOM ADS-2221MV dual channel Oscilloscope 200 MHz+VGA Review

I've had this unit for 4 months now, and it's been working great. I love the FFT mode. The display is huge and bright, way better than others I've used. I haven't been able to figure out how to get the ethernet to do anything useful, but connecting to a computer over USB works fine with the Owon PC software. I bought the additional battery pack for it and am really glad I did, I think I use it on battery more often than when plugged in. I'm not sure what else to say, I'm very happy with the scope.

To clear up any confusion, I can confirm that this unit is the same product as the Owon SDS8202-V, only a bit cheaper. It also has white-labeled firmware on it so that the word "Owon" doesn't show up in the menus.

The only issue I ran into was when Owon released a firmware update I couldn't apply the firmware to this unit because the serial number and model number of this unit don't match official Owon products. The unit also has a USB host, which the manual says may be useful for updating firmware, but there are no instructions on how to do that anywhere on the web. Thankfully I was able to contact the Aktakom sales team, and after 13 emails back and forth, they were able to get me a link to a hidden download on Owon's site that allowed me to update the firmware. So even though it was a bit of a hassle to get, I'm thankful to Aktakom for pulling through on that :)

I'm giving it 4 stars only because of the firmware issue. The oscope is great, and I'd give it 5 stars if Aktakom had a firmware download page on their website to make updates easier.
