Laguna Tools 10" 5 Function Combination Machine Review

Anyone have one of these? Either no one buys these machine or they are so happy with them that they don't write about them, Laguna can't even give me any references. I have been considering this combination machine for a long time to reduce the foot print all the other machines take up in my 648 sq ft woodworking shop, but before I replace them all with this machine I'd to know what I'm getting into. The WS5MD uses a top-of-the-line deluxe Fleck 6700 valve (3/4" connections) with an integral microprocessor based control. The programmable control utilizes high efficiency regeneration to minimize salt consumption. The beige colored resin tank, manufactured by Structural, is poly lined and fiberglass reinforced. The only complaint I have was the small part compression line took a while to get right. The group at CAI has been fantastic.

I called CAI to go over programming and to make sure I had the right options selected. I spoke to a live person that took down my info. They called me back within ten minutes and answered all my questions. As for the product. It has been excellent.

This wire rope is just what I was looking for to use for repairing worn cable in home gym. Perfect replacement size to what I already have. The 2000 Ibs breaking strength is more than strong enough to cope with the force that is put on it, in actual fact it is the nylon coating that breaks down not the wire it self. This cable is very flexible which is what you need as it has to run through all the pulleys. To buy this cable already made up as a replacement item for your home gym or public gyms for that matter would cost you a small fortune. If you are handy with basic tools it is not very difficult to make up your own replacement cables, while saving a small fortune in the process. I hope this feed back is of use to who ever may be reading it.

The 17-4 PH stainless steel round rod has been ground, meets American Society for Testing and Materials International ASTM 5643 specifications, and has a standard tolerance. The 17-4 PH stainless steel grade is a strong, tough material that offers greater corrosion resistance than 15-5 PH and can be heat treated at low temperatures after machining to increase its strength and hardness. This material can be heat treated in lower temperatures than other heat-treatable stainless steels, reducing the likelihood of the material warping and scaling. A precipitation-hardening stainless steel, 17-4 PH is magnetic in its hardened state. The material was ground to achieve the precise shape, size, and surface finish.

Stainless steel is an iron alloy with resistance to staining and rusting in many environments where steel would typically degrade. The chemical composition of each grade creates a grain structure that falls into one of five classes: austenitic, duplex, ferritic, martensitic, and precipitation hardening. The austenitic class contains the most formable, weldable, and corrosion-resistant stainless steel grades, but they cannot be heat treated. The duplex class offers high resistance to pitting and chloride stress corrosion cracking. Duplex grades are heat treatable and roughly twice as strong as austenitic grades. I ordered this to replace a carbon steel axle shaft on a tractor-type lawn sprinkler. I checked it with a micrometer when it arrived. Perfect 7/16" diameter and had a nice finish. The fact that it is annealed was helpful when I had to drill some indentations for set screws.
