The 303 stainless steel round rod has an unpolished (mill) surface, has been annealed, meets American Society for Testing and Materials International ASTM A582 specifications, and has a standard tolerance. The 303 stainless steel grade offers better machinability than general-purpose 304 stainless steel with slightly less corrosion resistance. An austenitic stainless steel, 303 is typically nonmagnetic and can be cold worked to increase its hardness and strength while maintaining most of its formability. The material has been annealed, a method of heating and cooling metal to modify its properties, such as increasing its formability and toughness or decreasing its strength, after it has been shaped.

Stainless steel is an iron alloy with resistance to staining and rusting in many environments where steel would typically degrade. The chemical composition of each grade creates a grain structure that falls into one of five classes: austenitic, duplex, ferritic, martensitic, and precipitation hardening. The austenitic class contains the most formable, weldable, and corrosion-resistant stainless steel grades, but they cannot be heat treated. The duplex class offers high resistance to pitting and chloride stress corrosion cracking. Duplex grades are heat treatable and roughly twice as strong as austenitic grades. Just what I ordered. I didn't end up using it because it turns out our heater thermopile was in working condition - the position just needed to be changed so it would heat up more and generate a higher voltage. This one also worked fine though.

I wish that it said somewhere what expected voltage output is at a few temperatures ... but I've never seen that on another thermopile package, although it would be nice for diagnostic purposes.

I work in a metal working shop with a weld department that I've worked in, when looking for cut off tools dynabrade has no equal in quality, efficiency and durability, works the first time and the one hundred thousandth time the exact same, (as with any tool oil it every once in a while) this brand is all that we use in our weld shop and with good reason, I was unfamilar with it until I worked here, I only wish I could afford one for my garage at home, I don't know how or why but you can take the same disc put it on another cut off tool with the same specs and it just won't perform as well even the big brands ingersoll rand, CP etc can't compare, I would recomend to anyone who can afford it you won't be sorry.
