This welder is fantastic! There are so many reasons why this is the best welder for the DIY, weekend warrior, light machinist, automotive repairer / restorer / upgrader should check out this welder. Even if you are a professional welder you should check this welder out if you need something compact and all-in-one for your home workshop. It isn't red or blue but it has all of the functions commonly needed for a price that cannot be beat.

Everlast has been in business for close to 10 years now. Their 2013 product lineup shows their maturity in the market and are light years ahead of what they were selling even a few years ago. You cannot beat their 5 year warranty.

I've used mostly Miller welders where I have worked for better than 20 years now and they are great welders but I really didn't want to spend that kind of money for a welder at home. As much as I like Miller arcs I simply could not justify it. Combine that with the fact that I also wanted to buy a plasma cutter and my wallet was screaming for mercy. This welder is DC ONLY. You cannot weld aluminum with it. If you want to get a similar welder with aluminum capability I suggest you look at the 2013 Everlast PowerPro 205S 200a Tig Stick Pulse 50a plasma cutter Multi Process Welder, PowerPro 164 or PowerPro 256 welders. DC only was fine by me and I bought one.

Here are my reasons for buying this welder:

1. Price performance cannot be beat
2. Warranty is outstanding
3. The Everlast forum is very friendly and they are a great help
4. The product is well made and performs well
5. Welder is compact and light

One thing you should keep in mind though is that the welder comes with a water cooled TIG torch so you will need to make or buy a water cooler to use it. Either that or buy an air cooled torch that might have a lower duty cycle.
