Product Description
Sumpro Model 75 OverviewThe Sumpro Model 75 is an emergency power system that can supply up to 1800 watts of household electricity - enough to run almost any electronic product or appliance you might connect to your wall outlet. The Sumpro 1800 stores household electricity in an internal battery bank and provides instantaneous power to your critical electrical appliances when utility power fails. The Sumpro is a clean quiet, smart, alternative to a generator, produces no emissions and is safe to operate indoors. How it WorksSimply plug your electrical appliance into the Sumpro and plug the Sumpro into a standard wall outlet. Once appliances are connected to the Sumpro, the Sumpro will continue to use your utility power until a power failure is detected. Once a power failure is detected, the Sumpro will instantaneously begin to supply standard household electricity to any connected appliances. Once utility power is restored, the Sumpro will automatically switch your appliance back to utility power and immediately begin to recharge it's internal batteries in anticipation of the next power failure. What's IncludedIncludes everything you will need to instantly provide backup power out of the box.• (1) Power Head; 1800w modified sine wave inverter with 40 amp charger• (1) 16 Gauge - Dual Chassis Battery Enclosure and cabling• (2) 100 amp-hour AGM battery (240 aH Total Battery Capacity)** expandable battery capacity, 480ah maxSumpro Model 75 (2199.99) - BATTERIES INCLUDED - Battery Powered Generator with Transfer Switch for Sump Pump Power Backup - Sumpro Model 75 Review
We had this unit installed September 2008. The first of two AC outlets on the power head had died only 19 months after installation. At that point, the Sumpro 75 was no longer under the 1 year warranty. The remaining AC outlet on the power head just died-after 4 years and 5 months of use. I am looking into on how much it will cost to have the unit repaired, versus buying a new one.
The battery portion seems to be working as it should, with the green light flashing, and the unit is receiving power from the wall outlet. Fortunately, we just had a new secondary pump installed with a 9 volt battery powered alarm, that just alerted us about the power outage-or we wouldn't have realized the remaining outlet had failed, and our pumps were not receiving ANY power, regardless of the lights being on.
While I have enjoyed the maintenance free aspects of this Sumpro 75, I feel that it isn't as reliable as it should have been given the price paid. Owners should be aware that even though it appears their unit is working, they may find out the "hard way" that their pump was plugged into a dead AC outlet on the Sumpro 75 itself. I also found out that our previous secondary pump did not have an alarm. I highly recommend an alarm with this unreliable system.

Updated review to 4 stars. The warranty is now 3 years on this unit, instead of one year, when initially purchased. Customer service was excellent. Axel was very helpful.. My unit was repaired at no charge. The duplex outlets had simply failed and were replaced.
