Grizzly G1140 Floor Model Edge Sander, 6 x 80-Inch Review

I purchased this model rather than one of the competitors specifically because it offered the feature of tilting the sanding surface to horizontal. But when the time came to use this valuable feature I was surprised to find that it wouldn't tilt completely flat to horizontal, (a few degrees shy) and worse it couldn't be used in conjunction with the built in table. The upright framework becomes an obstruction to the work-piece, and the tail of the tilt pivot bracket prevents the table from being lowered to the appropriate level.

Furthermore, the work stop leaves 2.5" or about 10% of the platen surface unusable.

Technical service at Grizzly claims that the belt was not intended to be used in conjunction with the table while in the horizontal position. Too bad I say, it could have made a mediocre product great. Gary.

The extended-reach neck style provides greater access to recessed areas of the workpiece than tools with a standard neck style. Four flutes produce a better finish than fewer flutes. The tool’s square end has straight cutting edges that create sharp, unrounded cuts, and the center-cutting design has cutting teeth at the end of the tool, so it can be fed into the workpiece like a drill bit. The 30-degree helix angle supports general-purpose applications. It balances lower angles’ strong cutting edge for difficult-to-machine materials with higher angles’ increased cutting action.

The AlTiN coating resists heat better than TiN, TiAlN, and TiCN coatings, increasing tool life and performance. It also offers increased hardness compared to TiN and may reduce the need for lubricants based on the application. (AlTiN is suitable for a range of materials, but TiCN or uncoated end mills are recommended for machining aluminum.) The carbide substrate is harder than high-speed or cobalt steel, making it more wear resistant at high speeds and providing longer tool life. Cutting diameter tolerance is +0.000 mm to -0.050 mm. The round shank accommodates a variety of holders.

The best value for you money! Great cutting I am surprised how precise the cuts where and how easy it devoured my stainless steel. I am a hobbyist and have a rather low performance CNC mill but the Niagara cutters more than compensated for my lack of power. However the metric documentaion is somewhat lacking. The charts on cutting feeds and speeds are based on 6 -10-12 mm so if you have a 8mm end mill you will have to figure it out your self. Also documentation is lacking on the metric ones when it comes to different coatings.

American Standard 2898.010.021 Cadet Elongated Two-Piece Toilet with 10-Inch Rough-In, Bone Review

The plumbers put the rough-in toilet flange too close to the wall for a normal size toilet. It was in a concrete floor. The 10" rough-in toilet was perfect for this application as I only had 9.5" from the center of the toilet flange/drain to the back wall. The actual bowl is a normal size. the tank is small and is actually lower profiled and looks nicer than a normal size bowl. It does not come with a toilet seat. It did come with mounting bolts and the plastic snap on bolt covers.
I am very satisfied with this product. It came packaged to survive a fall from a 2nd floor window.
