We just spent $30,000 on our solar pv system just to have our net metering app denied because these inverters can charge from the grid. BEWARE that SCE,DWP,and PG&E will not net meter ANY battery back up systems because they ALL are capable of charging from the grid.There is a guidline in the NEM code that reads "The inverter Must Be Designed to not be able to use grid power to charge battery bank".
Even though you can disable this feature in the inverter they will not net meter.
