Product Description

This Fill-Rite BD1210C biodiesel fuel transfer pump has a 12V motor and a 15 gallons per minute (gpm) flow rate. The pump assembly includes an 18' power cord, a telescoping suction pipe, a 10' delivery hose, and a manual release nozzle. The cast iron pump housing has FKM (fluoroelastomer) mechanical seals and O-rings, a 2" male National Pipe Taper (NPT) threaded mount, a 1" female NPT inlet for connection to the suction pipe, and a 3/4" female NPT outlet for connection to the delivery hose. The inlet and outlet manifolds rotate in 90-degree increments for flexibility in installation. The motor is UL Listed (Underwriters Laboratories) to U.S. and Canadian safety standards. This fuel transfer pump is suitable for transferring B21 to B100 biodiesel from mobile tanks in farming and construction applications.

I own two older VW Golfs with the turbo-diesel engine (TDI). I found out a few months ago that a local company was manufacturing biodiesel and would bulk deliver it to my home. I thought that I would give it a try since I like the idea of supporting local businesses and local farmers instead of oil companies and foreign sheiks. Plus I like the idea of being carbon neutral.

I had already owned a transfer pump rated for diesel, but after 2 weeks it failed with the biodiesel so I decided to buy this pump which is rated for biodiesel. It is a very nice pump and the hose that came with it was of much higher quality than my original one. The pump's fit and finish and the plumbing fittings that came with it were much better than my original pump.

The installation was easy and so far this pump is doing exactly what I want it to do, reliably pump biodiesel.
