This is a professional trinocular microscope that offers brightfield, darkfield and turret phase contrast features. It is designed for advanced applications in clinical offices and research laboratories. This microscope comes with a 30 degree inclined 360 degree swiveling compensation free trinocular head, 3-D mechanical stage and intensity-variable halogen illumination system. It offers eight levels of bright field magnifications: 40X-64X-100X-160X-400X-640X-1000X-1600X. The phase contrast kit includes a turret phase contrast condenser, CT lens and a set of phase contrast 10X, 20X, 40X and 100X PLAN objectives, giving 100X, 200X, 400X and 1000X phase contrast magnification powers. The trinocular port comes with both C-mount and 23 mm universal photo mount that enable to add photographic and/or video capability. This microscope is made by the same technicians and on the same production line as optical instruments for Leica, Zeiss, Nikon and Olympus. It is brand new in factory sealed original box. This microscope will eventually serve it's purpose, I do hope. It is a beautiful piece of equipment but I am unable to get started for lack of a proper "Microscope setup & use for Dummies" instruction booklet. There is a help manual but it's not very user friendly. There are no step by step illustrations, as to how to set up or troubleshoot when the image on the stage of the microscope does not show up on your computer. I have had to Google to try to find tutorials, which is a round the world trek. Eventually I did find a tutorial on using an oil condenser. When you try to find a tutorial on the Net specific to the Amscope MU500 series you are referred by to Amazon shopping. While the equipment may very well serve it purpose getting started is made more difficult not having a proper user friendly how to instruction booklet.
