Looked at this when I bought a furnace inducer motor that did not come with a fiberglass / heat resistant felt.Had to cut to fit and drill out holes but material is like sponge but dense enough to compress / seal which created a good gas fume stopper. Probably could get a way with 8/32 thickness (.128 thickness in order chart) but figured I would want extra compress rather than less. Also used longer sheet metal screws when attaching to furnace mount. Also had to use hi temp silicone around exhaust vent.
